Programs

La Pocatière, Québec (Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta)
July 01, 2024 to July 19, 2024

Campus Saint-Jean is the University of Alberta’s French-speaking campus. Our program is held during the summer in La Pocatière, Québec, a quiet, rural, agricultural centre located along the St. Lawrence River, a totally French-speaking milieu.

Overview of the program

Immerse yourself in francophone culture in La Pocatière - a safe and beautiful French-speaking town on the banks of the Saint Lawrence River. In morning, you will study French with dedicated and engaged teachers. In the afternoon, you will attend supervised workshops in danse, theatre, arts, sports, or journalism, or go on exciting outings to Quebec City, Grosse île, or an Arbraska park. In the evening, you can chat with the friendly locals, go to a festive masquerade ball, or just relax by a campfire on the riverbank. By the time you leave, you will have made remarkable progress in the French language as well as some happy memories and enduring friendships.

Levels

Our Program offers all levels, from beginner to advanced. Placement tests are given on the first day of school and you are grouped by level into classes of approximately 20 people.

Eligibililty

To be awarded a bursary, Canadian applicants must be attending school during the current school year and be at least 13 years old on the first day of the program. This program is offered to students aged between 13 and 15 years old.
